Dag 30, woensdag 25 juni

Canyonlands vandaag. Een gebied met vreemdsoortige kloven die je vanaf boven bekijkt. Gek landschap. Afhankelijk van de aardlaag die is versleten, zie je de kleur bovenkomen. Het kan basalt zijn, heel hard dus of zandsteen dat langzaam wegslijt afhankelijk van de mineralen die het bevat krijgt het laag voor laag een andere kleur. Langs de kilometers lange route vind je steeds uitkijkpunten, meestal goed verzorgt en ruim voor de RV. Telkens hop je dus van de ene uitkijk naar de andere het hele park door. Maar ….ohhhhhh….die Chinezen. Wat zijn het er veel. Ze racen door het park van de ene plek naar de andere en houden werkelijk met niemand rekening. Ze dragen hoeden, de dameshoeden met enorme randen zodat ze die helemaal om hun hoofd kunnen trekken tegen de zon. Velen lopen ook met mondkapjes voor. Vreemde vertoning. Maar goed. Ze hebben lol. Tot slot nog doorgereden naar het Dead Horse StatePark. Met een prachtig overzicht over de meanderende Colorado. Nog steeds bloedheet. Morgen gaan we richting Colorado en dan zal het wat koeler zijn

Day 30, Wednesday June 25

Canyonlands today. A landscape with strange peculiar gorges that you can see from the top down. Strange landscape. Depending on the layer of earth that has been waisted away through storm and rain you see differ t colors on top. The rocks can be basalt or sandstone and the coloration is due to the many different minerals in the rocks. On the many miles long trail you will find clean and well maintained outlooks, also with enough room for RV Parking. So you drive through the park from outlook to outlook and ohhhh those Chinese people….There are so many of them. They go through a park with high speed, take pictures to see later were they have been and forget to enjoy. The lady’s wear heads with big edges that they pull down over their heads and wear mouth caps. It is a strange spectacle, but they probably have funJ In the end we went to Dead Horse State Park to see the beautiful overlook over the meandering Colorado. It’s still hot out here. Tomorrow we will go in the direction of Colorado. It will be cooler out there.
